Getting Started

Do I need to pay before you review my file?

No. Submit your file first — we review it free of charge and send you a quote. You only pay after agreeing to the price. No commitment required just to see what the work involves.

How do I submit my artwork?

Upload directly through our quote form on the website — no need to share Google Drive or WeTransfer links. You can also send files via WhatsApp if you prefer. We work the same way either way.

What information should I include with my file?

Tell us the print process (screen printing, DTF, or DTG), the garment colour(s), the number of colours you want to keep, and your deadline. The more context you give us, the more accurate the quote.

How long does a quote take?

We aim to respond to all quote requests within 1–2 hours during working hours (IST). For complex separations we may ask one or two clarifying questions before quoting.

File Formats & Technical

What file formats do you accept?

We accept AI, EPS, PDF, PSD, JPEG, PNG, TIFF, and most common design formats. If your file is in an unusual format, just send it over and we'll let you know whether we can work with it.

Can you work with low-resolution or damaged artwork?

Yes — this is one of the most common requests we handle. We regularly rebuild artwork from pixelated, corrupt, low-res, or heavily degraded files. We'll assess your file and be upfront about what's achievable before you commit.

Can you work from a scanned garment or a photo of a printed shirt?

Absolutely. We regularly rebuild artwork from physical samples and photographs when the original file is unavailable. A high-resolution scan (300 DPI or higher, flat-laid under even lighting) gives the best result — but we can work with what you have and flag any constraints upfront.

Do you need the original working files (layers, fonts)?

Not always. We can work from flat exports in many cases. However, for artwork rebuilds on complex layered work, having the original AI or PSD speeds up the job and keeps the cost down. If you only have a JPEG, that's fine — we rebuild from scratch.

What resolution do files need to be for colour separation?

For halftone-based separations (simulated process, CMYK), raster artwork should be at least 300 DPI at print size. Vector artwork (AI, EPS, PDF) is resolution-independent. If your file is below 300 DPI, we'll tell you what's achievable before quoting.

Colour Separation

Which colour separation type do I need?

It depends on the artwork and the print environment. Simulated process is the most common choice for photographic or complex illustrations on dark garments. Spot colour is right for flat-colour brand logos. CMYK is best for white garments with process-colour inks. Index works when you need the same artwork to print on multiple garment colours without changing screens. If you're unsure, just describe your job and we'll recommend the right approach.

How many colours / channels do your separations typically produce?

It varies by method: simulated process typically produces 6–8 channels including an underbase; spot colour separations match the colour count in the design (2–8 is typical); CMYK is always 4 channels; index varies from 5–8 depending on complexity. We always confirm the channel count before you pay.

Do your files come ready to burn screens directly?

Yes. All separated channels are delivered as press-ready film positives or RIP-ready files, depending on your preferred output format. We can format for RIP software if you tell us which system you use.

Can you handle underbase and highlight white channels?

Yes — both are standard parts of our simulated process and index separations. The underbase weight is adjusted for the garment colour; the highlight white is managed to avoid ink build-up in pale areas.

Delivery & Revisions

How long does delivery take?

Most jobs are delivered within 2–4 hours of payment confirmation. Complex multi-channel separations or full artwork rebuilds from scratch may take up to 8 hours. Rush jobs can be accommodated — mention your deadline in the quote form.

How do I receive my files?

Completed files are delivered via a secure download link. If you prefer delivery via WhatsApp or email attachment, just let us know at the time of your quote.

What is your revision policy?

Every order includes 2 rounds of revisions at no extra charge. Tell us what needs adjusting and we'll turn it around fast. Additional changes beyond that are discussed case by case — minor tweaks are usually absorbed; significant rework is quoted separately.

What if the file doesn't print correctly?

We stand behind our output. If a file we delivered fails at the press stage due to a separation or rebuild error on our side, we fix it at no extra charge. We ask for a press sheet or photo so we can diagnose the issue accurately.

Pricing & Payment

How is pricing calculated?

Pricing is based on the type of job, the number of channels (for separations), and the complexity of the artwork (for rebuilds). There is no fixed rate card because every file is different. We quote per job after reviewing your file — no hidden fees.

How does payment work?

Once we review your file and agree on the quote, we send a payment link. Work begins only after payment is confirmed. We accept bank transfer (India and international), and most standard payment methods. Indian clients can pay via UPI.

Do you offer ongoing pricing for regular clients?

Yes. Clients who send regular volume work — weekly or monthly — receive preferential pricing. Contact us to discuss a rate for your typical job types and frequency.

Working with Us

Are you based in India? Can international clients work with you?

We are based in Tirupur, Tamil Nadu, India — the heart of India's garment export industry. We work entirely remotely and serve clients in Sweden, Denmark, Poland, and across India. Location is not a barrier.

How do you handle client confidentiality?

Client files, designs, and artwork are never shared, resold, or disclosed to any third party. What you send us stays with us. We can sign an NDA if required — just ask.

What makes SepArt Studio different from a general design service?

13+ years of specialist prepress and colour separation experience — not general design. We understand what happens at the press: ink behaviour, screen mesh, registration tolerances, and ink sequence. Every file is checked against print standards before delivery. If it doesn't meet the mark, we fix it at no extra charge.

Still Have Questions?

Send us your file and we'll give you a straight answer — no commitment, no cost to enquire.
