Fix Pixelated Images for Print
Some designs cannot become a simple vector. Photographs, airbrushed illustrations, grunge textures and painted artwork need to stay as pixels, but they still have to print sharply at full size. We rebuild that kind of artwork by hand at the resolution your print actually needs.
This is careful retouching and redrawing by a prepress specialist, not a one-click enlargement. Detail that was lost is recreated to match the original, not invented.
Raster or vector?
Choose this service when the artwork has soft shading, photographic detail or texture. If it is a logo, text or flat colour shapes, Vector Conversion will give you a cleaner, smaller file.

Why Images Turn Pixelated When Printed
An image saved for the web might be 1000 pixels wide. Printed 30 cm wide, that is barely 85 pixels per inch, so every pixel becomes a visible square and edges turn soft and blocky. Compression adds smudged blocks around text and fine lines, which show up badly in halftones and DTF prints.
Simply stretching the file in Photoshop makes it bigger but not sharper. The blur and blocks are still there, only larger. Fixing it properly means rebuilding the edges, textures and tonal areas at the target size.
Our Raster Rebuild Process
We set up a canvas at your final print size and resolution, then rebuild the artwork section by section using the original as a guide. Hard edges are redrawn, smooth gradients are rebuilt without banding, and damaged or missing areas are recreated to match the surrounding design.
Where part of the design is really flat shapes, such as lettering on top of a photo, we often redraw those parts as vectors and combine them with the rebuilt image. You get the sharpest result for each element.
- Rebuilt at full print size, not enlarged from the small file
- Clean edges around text and line work
- Smooth tonal areas ready for halftone or simulated process separation
- Layered PSD on request, plus flattened PNG or JPG
When to Choose a Raster Rebuild
Band and tour artwork taken from album covers, vintage designs scanned from old prints, photo tees from customer phone pictures and detailed illustrations from websites all fall into this category. If the image would print soft or blocky today, this is the service for it.
Rebuilt raster files often go straight on to simulated process separation for dark garments or to DTF and DTG preparation, and we can handle those next steps too. Corrections for technical errors are free and files stay confidential.
Raster Rebuild Questions
Yes. We rebuild the image by hand at your final print size, redrawing edges and recreating lost detail to match the original, so it prints sharply instead of soft or blocky.
